I guess it’s a good thing to have more than enough choices to choose from when trying to source candidates. But I’m not even a recruiter and I’m overwhelmed!
Being in the Recruitment Communications/Ad Agency field for 6 years, it was my job to make sure I recommended sources that would prove efficient for my client’s recruitment needs. For me, I was lucky enough to have a network of co-workers who could recommend sources based on what has worked for their clients. We also had an internal team that was the “Filter” for all external vendors. It was their job to explore these sources and then make recommendations to the network of offices.
But if I’m a recruiter at a company or even a recruiter at a search/staffing firm, how do I pick and choose? Do I consult with coworkers, friends in the industry, ERE? How do I decide what resources to use?
Are recruiters feeling overwhelmed by the amount of resources to choose from? What are the parameters used to define what sources are a good match for you?
As part of one of those vendor companies now, I am curious to know how recruiters determine what source to use. Is there a board that reviews recruitment sources? There should be an Angie’s List for Recruitment….
So many questions…must find answers…
